Do you want to improve your English speaking skills in a warm and welcoming environment? Our free conversational English classes are a great way to practice speaking, listening, and building confidence while making new friends and enjoying  community!

Classes meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 7-8:30 pm beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Please enter through Door F (on the back side of the building).

FREE! There is no fee to attend. Students will be registered on their first night.

What You Can Expect

“Sharing English, Building Community” (SEBC) is Lake Ridge Baptist Church’s (LRBC) unique ESOL program. SEBC is designed to help learners speak with greater confidence and fluency. Unlike traditional classrooms, these sessions focus on honest conversations and everyday language. You’ll interact with native English speakers and participate in activities that make learning enjoyable and practical. By attending, you can expect to improve your fluency, gain confidence in speaking, and make new friend. So, allow us to come alongside you and invest time in your language skills and personal growth.

Class Highlights

• Practice Speaking and Listening: Build your fluency through natural conversation. Talk about things that matter to you – daily life, food, travel, and more. Share your thoughts and learn from others in a safe environment.
• Engaging Activities: Enjoy fun exercises like role-plays, group discussions, and games. Practice everyday situations, such as shopping or asking for help. Use fun games to learn vocabulary and sentence patterns.
• Practical Topics and Skills: Learn in a relaxed and welcoming space how to order food from fast-food restaurants (for example, Chick-fil-A), how to write a resume, how to fill out a job application, how to apply for a library card, how to pay bills online, etc. These are skills that you can use in your daily life, making the learning experience more relevant and beneficial.
