Mothers of Pre-Schoolers Program

MOPs stands for Mothers of Preschoolers.  MOPs exists to meet the needs of every mom—urban, suburban, and rural moms; stay-at-home and working moms; teen, single, and married moms—moms with different lifestyles who all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be!

When we meet:
MOPs meetings are held the third Thursday of the month during the school year from 7-9 p.m.  Free childcare is provided on an as-needed basis. Your Discussion Group leader will contact you at least one week in advance to make arrangements. Otherwise, please contact Christy Griffin (703) 730-1590.

A typical meeting is as follows:

   7:00-7:15   Socializing and snacks

   7:15-7:30   Announcements/ introductions

   7:30-8:00   Speaker/ presentation

   8:00-8:30   Small group discussion

   8:30-9:00   Creative activity

Background
MOPs International, Inc. started in 1973 with a commitment to nurturing every mother of preschooler.  Many moms find the encouragement they need through the nearly 3000 local MOPs groups meeting across the country and around the world.  MOPs has come a long way over the years and continues to adapt to meet the various needs of moms today.

Typical Meeting
The meeting begins with a time of socializing and snacks. The mentor mom then shares her wisdom by either making a presentation or introducing a guest speaker/expert. After the speaker, the meeting breaks into small groups to further discuss the topic, which provide honest sharing, helpful encouragement and deepening friendships. After the small group, a craft is made that even the “craft challenged” can enjoy.
 

Membership

$20 MOPs International Registration includes:

• Bimonthly MOMSense magazine subscription for one year.

• Weekly Mom email

• MOPS International calendar

$27 Lake Ridge Baptist Church MOPs Annual Dues

• Can be paid in one lump sum or 3 payments of $9

• Dues will be pro-rated for new members
